Division

WALT: Understand division strategies

WALT: Solve division math problems

For this week´s tasks, we had to do a blog about the maths we are learning about. There are cookies and you have to sort them out and put them into groups for some friends. My favorite part was to put the cookies into groups.  What I need to improve on is to get the answers straight away.

Tiny houses

WALT: Explore Kiwis lives and their stories of overcoming challenges

For this inquiry activity, I had to write about a tiny house.

I learned that you can make a tiny house on a trailer and you can move them around.  I also learned that some tiny houses can look small on the outside but inside they are big.

If you want to look at tiny houses in NZ have a look at this site: https://www.buildtiny.co.nz/

Here is a picture of a tiny house that I think looks amazing.  What do you think?

Natural Wonders Around the World - Mexico's Natural Wonder: Paricutin Volcano

WALT: Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Article a day - Book of Knowledge)

My task was to read an article about Mexico's Natural Wonder: Paricutin Volcano.  I enjoyed learning about the inside of this volcano. My next step is to add more information.

I learned that the Paricutin Volcano erupted. I also learned that In 1943, this volcano emerged from a cornfield in a village about 200 miles or (321 km) west of Mexico City.

Part whole thinking

WALT: Understand that Part whole thinking means we break an object or group of objects into smaller parts.

Last week for maths I had to colour in a half of these shapes: triangle, square, circle and a rectangle.  It was easy.  Next time I will remember to write the fraction that goes with the shape e.g 1/2.

My learning journey @ home

Myself and my whanau have been working hard at home doing lots of fun learning and activities during Level 4 Lockdown. Here are some photos of what's possible if you persevere and do what Mrs Osborne says... Have fun, learn lots, stay safe and be kind.
